Experience with Blogging

What has been your experience with using blogs in the classroom? Have you been able to use them with your students in a classroom setting? How? If not, what are some ways that you could see yourself using blogging with your students? What might you post to allow students to reflect upon?

  7. I've never used a blog before; however, I could envision using a blog to assist both my on-line and ACCESS (distance-learning via Internet) students (although the ACCESS program does offer communications in a number of ways. I'm afraid that I can't think of any way that using a blog would help me in my "day job" (orchestra conductor). Dan Hornstein.

  8. No I have not used blogs in the classroom. However I can see it being used as a forum to discuss a book that the students have been asked to read.

  11. I have not used blogs in the classroom. I think it would give immediate feedback on the material covered. I would use it for bellringer questions to start the class and feedback questions at the end of class.

  12. I would use a blog to post a math problem, so students will be able to see it, universally, and respond their ideas/answers.

  14. I have never used them in the classroom or out. I guess I have a bad attitude sometimes about blogs because I read so much hot air on them! Being an art teacher, my focus has been on using brushes, paint, and the like rather than words, though I do believe that a blog would be great for lots of things...papers(history for instance) would be easier to grade and some students might even be more inclined to participate by using blogs...kevin

  15. I have created a blog that can be used with my book club, but have not yet actually had the opportunity to use it because of time and technical problems. I created the blog as part of an assignment for an online class.

  21. I have not used them in the classroom, but would very much like to. We take the 6th grade class to Space Camp each year and it would be great to blog with my parents. Last year we twittered, but I'm thinking what is the difference in blogging and twittering? I was not very efficient at twittering. It made me nervous.
